June 2018: New paper on sediment transport in streams by Diana Karwan published in Water Resources Research. Dr. Harpold provided lidar analysis as co-author.
April 2018: New paper by Dr. Julia Perdrial published in Biogeochemistry: “A net ecosystem carbon budget for snow dominated forested headwater catchments: linking water and carbon fluxes to critical zone carbon storage”
April 2018: Dr. Harpold is awarded Haury Fellowship to visit Lab of Tree Ring Research at the University of Arizona in January 2019.
April 2018: Attended the Western Snow Conference with Mackenzie, Ava, and Tiho. Ava’s poster on sap flow during snowmelt won runner up for best poster.

November 2014: Went to Porter Canyon to explore snow hydrology and make some simple field sensor installations with my undergraduate assistant Carly Venghaus. We plan to investigate the impacts of pinyon and juniper removal on snow processes.
